Research in our lab pairs structural and functional MRI with behavioral measures of neurocognitive performance to build and test models of how activities of daily living are supported by the brain. We study visual perception, object recognition, conceptual processing, language, and action. We use the tools of the cognitive brain and sciences to understand how the human brain responds to injury. The big goal that drives our work is to translate models of how the brain works into applications that improve the lives of patients with neurological disease.
